Black won 31 games, White won 29 games, and there were 0 jigoes.
The existence of two divisions encouraged entries by weaker players. All of these had played in a KGS bot tournament before, though Fabian Linzberger's kurtBot played in only one, in 2010.
However only two players registered for the Formal division. As this was not enough for a good tournament, as explained here, I merged the two divisions. To make the numbers even, I added gnugo3pt8.In round 1, AyaMC repeatedly joined and left its game with gnugo3pt8, and only made two moves. It lost on time. Its creator Hiroshi Yamashita explained that the version he had been running, using GPUs and DCNN logic, had proved unstable. He replaced it by a simpler platform for subsequent rounds.
Players receive points for the 2016 Annual KGS Bot Championship as follows:
Zen | 8 |
Aya | 5 |
matilda | 3 |
Iomrascálaí | 2 |
GNU Go | 1 |
