A good start to the year with 15 people at our January tournament, including two from Denmark and one from Germany.
We played four sessions of 18 boards each. Frederik Görlitz won with 2630 pts, from Mike Hawkins (2561), Patrick Phair (2259) and Gustavo Schafaschek (2256). Frederik also recorded the best session (1,017), but as he already had a prize, the award went to Martin Dachsel (920). John McLeod too the prize for the hand won against most tops (without 6).
It wasn't a day for consistency. Eight players had a difference of 700pts or more between their best and worst sessions, Martin being the extreme example: his 920 followed a round of minus 116.
Winners took home malt whisky, a selection of gin miniatures and lots of chocolates.
