Nine people played in our September tournament, including new player, Willow Northeald, and we played four sessions of 18 boards, with a seating pattern enabling everyone to play against each other once. Martin Dachsel and Mike Tobias were first and second after the first round, with the two highest session scores of the day, and the positions were reversed after rounds 2 and 3, before Mike crashed and burned in round 4 with the lowest score of the day (84) leaving Martin the clear winner on 2425 pts. Willow 2nd on 2180 and Mike Hawkins 3rd with 2091.
A prize was on offer for the hand won against the most matadors (minimum without 5), but wasn't won, so went instead to Mike Hawkins for the highest individual hand score of 168: Grand Hand with 3, Schneider announced.
