A hunter walks one mile south, one mile east, and one mile north and ends up back where he started. He sees a bear and shoots it. What color is the bear?
White. He's at the North Pole, where the only bears are polar bears.
You may have considered some alternative answers. For example, any point 2040 yards (or 1900 yards, or 1863 yards, etc.) from the South Pole. The walk goes one mile towards the pole, does one (two, three, etc.) circuits of the pole, and then one mile north to the starting point.
But such answers are not compatible with the original question, which mentions a bear. There is no source of fish, or seals, or honey, or berries, or any other suitable sustenance for bears, within 800 miles of the South Pole.
